GTTP

What a perfect morning and venue for the Get to the Point 5k & Half-Marathon Race, hosted by the Running Factory. GTTP is held at Point Pelee National Park, the most southern tip in Canada. It could not have been better conditions for this flat, fast, and certified course. My goal was to have a solid 5k effort at my goal 10k triathlon run pace. I wore my Garmin 305 GPS Forerunner watch to record some data and to observe my pacing. I ran fairly well despite not feeling very run fit at this time, and finished 2nd overall. Team LPC members Travis Goron and Josh Seifarth went 1-2 in the junior age-group (3rd and 5th overall). It is awesome to coach these two guys and observe their improvement. Team LPC's Jim Cooke ran a very solid half which will serve as an excellent tune-up for the Detroit Free Press Marathon in 4 weeks.
